The trial of Ildar “Scar” Galiyev, accused of more than 20 serious crimes, began on Tuesday at Stockholm District Court. SVT reported that the case includes allegations of murders, attempted murders and bombings.
Galiyev, 26, has been described as one of the leaders of the Dalen network. He denies all charges. Prosecutors allege he was involved in two murders and instigated two others, as well as playing a role in several explosions and attempted murders.
The murder charges concern the killing of an 18-year-old near Mälarhöjden sports ground in Stockholm in September 2023 and the killing of a man in his 40s on Södermalm in May 2024. The alleged instigation charges relate to a bombing in Fullerö hage outside Uppsala that killed 24-year-old Soha Saad, and the fatal shooting of a man in his 40s in Vällingby, both in September 2023.
Other allegations include attempted murder, offences under laws on flammable and explosive goods, and causing public danger. The cases include a bombing at a row of houses in Hässelby, Stockholm, in March 2023 and an explosion in a stairwell in Ekholmen, Linköping, in September that year. Galiyev is also charged with preparing a murder in Stockholm in 2023 and instigating kidnapping and aggravated assault in 2024.
The charges have been brought together in one case, despite the alleged crimes taking place in Stockholm, Uppsala and Linköping. Galiyev was handed over to Sweden from Greece in January. The trial is expected to continue until March next year.
