Police charge driver with impaired driving after Leirvík tunnel crashes

A driver has been charged with impaired driving after two collisions in the Leirvík Tunnel early on Saturday evening, KVF reports.

The driver first hit a car inside the tunnel but continued driving. Just after exiting, the driver collided with another car, which was wrecked.

Police said no one was injured, but three people were taken to the National Hospital for examinations. The tunnel was closed for an hour and a half after the collisions.
