Swedish routes Gothenburg to Strömstad and Gothenburg to Örebro cancelled due to approaching storm
The routes affected are Gothenburg to Strömstad and Gothenburg to Örebro, with departures cancelled on Wednesday. The cause is the approaching storm sweeping across Götaland during the day. The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued a yellow warning of torrential rain, stating that traffic in the affected areas may be disrupted.
According to the forecast, the showers will begin in the western regions around or after lunchtime. The rain will move eastward during the afternoon and evening. Large quantities of rain are expected in a short time, up to 40-60 millimeters in some places.
Gale-force winds of 14-17m/s are forecasted in Skagerrak. According to the SMHI’s warning, this could cause problems for small leisure boats and small commercial vessels.
