mbl.is reports that its programme Spursmál will bring together four guests to discuss Islamic extremism, healthcare and the coming US elections.

Elliði Vignisson, mayor of Ölfus, and Yasmina Vajzovic, a former councillor in Reykjanesbær, will discuss the visit to Iceland by Muhammad Taqi Usmani and views held by Muslim communities in Iceland. The two have exchanged comments on social media over the past week after Elliði spoke about immigration in Iceland.

Dagný Jónsdóttir, executive director of Orkuhúsið, will discuss what she says are shortcomings in Iceland’s healthcare service. She says authorities are reducing the number of procedures private providers can carry out for patients with serious problems affecting the back, knees and hips.

Gunnar Birgisson, who has worked as a lawyer in the United States for decades, will discuss US politics and assess the election campaign. Voters are due to elect one-third of the Senate and all 435 members of the House of Representatives in the coming week.

The episode is available to everyone in the player below and begins at 14:00.
