DR reshapes content leadership to raise ambitions
DR is restructuring its content leadership as it seeks to raise its ambitions and accelerate innovation, the broadcaster said in a plan presented by new content director Naja Nielsen.
Nielsen, who took up the role at the beginning of this month, said global upheaval and rapid technological development required new strategic choices. The plan aims to strengthen democracy by bringing Danes together across their differences, while raising the editorial, creative and artistic standards of DR’s output.
From January 1, Nielsen’s leadership team will include four directors responsible for news, culture, programmes and publishing, as well as a chief of staff and a lead for innovation. The innovation role is newly created.
The culture, programmes and publishing director positions remain vacant and were advertised on the day the plan was presented to DR employees. The changes also include a series of internal structural adjustments.
Nielsen said DR’s content should bring people together, stimulate curiosity, encourage fact-based discussion and inspire Danish creativity.
