KVF’s Breddin programme will examine whether Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen was too quick to criticise her Nordic counterparts over their phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Finnish President Alexander Stubb decided to call Putin while Nordic countries were meeting in Helsinki this week for the Nordic Council’s annual session, where they discussed shared solutions on security. Frederiksen criticised the two leaders for acting on their own, but has since herself come under fire for jumping the gun.
The programme will ask Bárður á Steig Nielsen, the minister for foreign affairs and fisheries, what he thinks of the call. He attended the Nordic Council meeting in Helsinki.
Breddin will also speak to Jana Maria McKay, who has been sober for 14 years. McKay, a former drug user, says injection drug use is not new in the Faroe Islands and criticises society for failing to take the drug problem seriously. She will discuss her experience, how she became sober and how she believes people with addiction are prioritised in the Faroe Islands.
