Faroes plan new ferry for Svínoy and Fugloy

The Faroese Parliament’s Finance Committee is considering revised funding conditions for a new ferry to serve Svínoy and Fugloy, Kringvarp Føroya (KVF) reports.
The plan had been to build a ferry for the Kalsoy route first, and the project has long been ready to go out to tender. It will not be put out to tender because a tunnel is planned for Kalsoy. The current plan is to build a vessel for Svínoy and Fugloy instead.
Ferry Ritan dates from 1972.
