Oulu-based Bittium has started change negotiations at its subsidiary Bittium Biosignals Oy that could lead to up to 15 people being dismissed or temporarily laid off, Yle reports, citing a company stock exchange release.

The negotiations are being held for production and financial reasons and because of planned operational restructuring. In some cases, changing essential terms of employment may be considered instead of dismissal.

The talks cover Bittium Biosignals’ operations in Finland and all its employees except the production, maintenance and logistics team.

Bittium will also outsource maintenance services for products in its Medical business segment, along with production support services, to Bevenic Oy, a long-term production partner based in Kuopio. The 12 employees in the Kuopio production, maintenance and logistics team are planned to transfer to Bevenic from January 1, 2027.

Bittium says the negotiations and outsourcing are intended to generate annual cost savings of about 1 million euros.
