Thursday 15th August 2024 on 16:33 in Iceland

Two hikers who had gone missing in the Kerlingarfjöll mountains were successfully located early this morning. Rescue teams found the men around 12:30 AM after they had gotten lost in foggy conditions. One of the hikers was reported to be quite cold.

Ten rescue teams from the Southern region were dispatched last night to search for the missing individuals. The hikers decided to stay put and conserve their body heat until help arrived. Fortunately, the rescue teams reached them successfully, and they were safely transported to a hotel in Ásgarður.
