Yellow wind warnings cover South Iceland and Faxaflói

Yellow weather warnings will take effect overnight in South Iceland and Faxaflói, with wind gusts near mountains expected to exceed 30 metres per second, mbl.is reports.

The warning begins in South Iceland at 3 a.m. and in Faxaflói at 4 a.m. Both are due to expire between 8 and 9 a.m.

Winds of 13 to 20 metres per second and rain are forecast. Conditions could be hazardous for vehicles that catch strong winds.
