The investigation into Tampere’s Deputy Mayor Ilkka Sasia is complete and has moved to the prosecution phase. According to police investigator Tommi Juvonen, the charges remain unchanged. Sasia is suspected of sexual harassment and an alcohol-related offense, believed to have occurred in December of last year in Tampere. The completion of the investigation was first reported by Aamulehti.

Additionally, the police are also investigating allegations where Sasia is the complainant or potential victim. These inquiries are still ongoing, according to Juvonen.

Due to the criminal allegations, the Tampere City Council is assessing whether Sasia still holds the council’s confidence to serve as Deputy Mayor. This evaluation is being laid out by a temporary committee established by the city council in early July. The council is expected to revisit this matter, likely in September.
