The University of Copenhagen has revised its assessment of a suspected new cyberattack, saying activity in its systems only appeared to resemble an attack, DR reported.
The university initially said its systems had been hit by another attack. After further investigation, it concluded late yesterday that the activity had not been a new attack.
The change in assessment does not mean a precautionary, controlled shutdown of systems is no longer necessary, the university said on its website. The shutdown, linked to the original cyberattack on October 23, continues to disrupt some university systems.
Last week, hackers gained access to information about approximately 525,000 people. The university said it had no further comment at this time.
