Faroese banks reported a combined after-tax profit of 286 million kroner in the first half of 2026, KVF reported, citing Landsbankin. That was slightly below the 320 million kroner recorded in the same period last year.

Betri Banki posted a profit of 141 million kroner, Føroya Banki 125 million, Norðoya Sparikassi 18 million and Suðuroyar Sparikassi two million.

The banks have set aside an amount equivalent to 3.5 per cent of their loans to business customers to cover possible losses this year. They recorded no losses on business loans last year.

For household loans, the banks have set aside 0.7 per cent against possible losses. Losses on those loans were 0.1 per cent last year, Landsbankin said.
