Finland’s State Centre for Information and Communications Technology, Valtori, says key public systems affecting citizens have been repaired after outages, Yle reported.
The systems include Suomi.fi authentication, the population information system and the police’s online services. Valtori’s senior director of information management, Hannu Naumanen, told the STT news agency on Friday that repairs to government online services were progressing after the outages.
Many online services went down worldwide on Wednesday because of vulnerabilities found in the PHP programming language. Government services were taken offline as a precaution.
Full restoration could take days or weeks. Naumanen said updating every system would take more than a week. Valtori said it was not aware of the vulnerabilities being actively exploited.
