Police drove a heavily intoxicated man home from a bar in central Reykjavik after deciding he could not manage his own affairs, mbl.is reported, citing the police log for the capital region.

The log covers incidents between 5 p.m. on Thursday and 5 a.m. on Friday. It said three people spent the night in police custody.

Police received a report that a taxi driver had allegedly punched a colleague. Officers spoke to both drivers, and footage from the scene provided a clear picture of what happened. The case is under investigation.

Officers witnessed a collision involving three cars. Drivers and passengers reported pain and soreness after the impact, and two of the vehicles could not be driven.

Police also received reports of young boys setting off fireworks in a wooded area near homes in Garðabær, where the activity had reportedly continued for several days. The boys were not found despite a search.

In another incident, police were called to a dispute over a fare at the end of a journey. The matter was resolved at the scene when the passenger paid.
