Two Danish men have been charged with planning to produce drugs in a workshop in Norðdepil, KVF reports.

The indictment alleges they planned to make at least 14.1 kilograms of amphetamine and nine litres of GHB, also known as G or fantasy. GHB has a sedative effect.

Equipment and chemicals had been bought, but production did not properly get underway because police arrested one of the men on 12 July 2020. The indictment is dated 30 November 2023, and the Faroese court is due to hear the case next week.

The men, aged 37 and 43, are also charged with threats and depriving someone of their liberty. According to the indictment, they showed the person a shotgun that was in their car. One of the men allegedly said he was not afraid to use it.

They face other charges as well, mainly traffic offences. Both deny the charges.
