Garðabær is seeking offers for building rights for 67 homes in Hnoðraholt, a planned residential district on a hillside north of the golf course at Vífilsstaðir. The municipality announced the sale, mbl.is reported.
The first phase includes plots for 26 detached houses and building rights for 23 apartments in four rows of terraced houses. The municipality is also inviting building cooperatives to bid for rights to build 18 homes in four or five rows of terraced houses.
The plots are ready for allocation, and bids must be submitted by October 30. For the public sale, the minimum price is 30 million to 33 million krónur for a detached-house plot and 24 million krónur for each terraced-house plot. A cluster of five such plots would cost at least 120 million krónur.
Mayor Almar Guðmundsson said the terraced houses for cooperatives would be single-storey homes intended for people looking to downsize. In the public sale, bidders offering the highest prices will be awarded the building rights.
The first phase is planned for the upper part of the hillside, north of the golf course and near Miðgarður, Garðabær’s sports centre. The wider neighbourhood is expected to contain about 300 homes. The current phase has just under 70, with more than 200 additional homes still to be planned. Construction on the first phase has begun.
