Valgerður Rúnarsdóttir, former medical director at SÁÁ, will finish her temporary work at the hospital at the end of this week, she told mbl.is. She returned temporarily after resigning in September and taking leave.

Rúnarsdóttir said it had not been clear whether she would work for more than three weeks, but that she would now return to leave. She said she had come back to ease pressure on the hospital and help create some calm, not to stay permanently.

She said the association’s board had not responded to her concerns. Rúnarsdóttir has criticised the board after the organisation’s chief executive was pushed out.

“Nothing has evidently changed among those responsible or on the board,” she told mbl.is, adding that she had not heard from them and that they were not speaking with her.
