Älvsjö, crime, Stockholm

Police are investigating whether the Foxtrot network was involved in the fatal shooting of a woman in her mid-20s in Älvsjö, after several independent sources told SVT the killing may have been ordered as revenge against one of her relatives.

Two boys, aged 16 and 17, were arrested hours after the killing and are being held on suspicion of murder, aggravated weapons offences and preparation for murder. Prosecutor Lukas Tigerstrand has said they were also planning to kill another person in the Stockholm area.

According to SVT’s sources, the boys were recruited to carry out the attack and are not believed to have had previous gang links. They are from the Gothenburg area. The sources say the Foxtrot network, led by Rawa Majid, may have ordered the murder.

Tigerstrand declined to comment on the reported Foxtrot connection. He said investigators had found no indication that the suspects knew the victim and that they appeared to have travelled to the area.

The relative said to have been the intended target of the revenge is known to police, has been convicted of several offences and was previously charged with murder and attempted murder before being acquitted. Police have said the person belonged to a criminal network and was involved in gang conflicts and revenge attacks.

A third person was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of aiding and abetting murder and preparation for murder. The victim worked in the municipality’s youth activities and had previously taken part in community projects for Hammarby Football. A minute’s silence was due to be held in the area on Wednesday evening.

SVT reports that the information about a possible Foxtrot connection is being investigated by police.
