Finland’s state ICT centre Valtori is taking public government online services offline as a precaution after critical vulnerabilities were found in widely used PHP software, Yle reported.

The shutdown is not in response to an exploitation of the vulnerabilities or a data breach targeting the services. Valtori said the measure is intended to protect them.

The services began going offline in the early afternoon. The software manufacturer said a security update addressing the vulnerabilities was expected to become available at 5 p.m.
