Bids for development rights at a plot on Hraunberg in Reykjavík differed by nearly 137%, Morgunblaðið reports.

Landslagnir ehf. submitted the highest bid, nearly 123 million Icelandic krónur, for rights to build up to 16 apartments. Byggingarfélagið E. Sigurðsson ehf. offered 52 million krónur.

At Suðurhólar, where development rights for a project with up to 40 apartments were also offered, E. Sigurðsson was the only bidder, offering 68 million krónur. The bidding deadline for Suðurhólar was extended by a week from the date originally advertised.

The two sites have different plans. At Suðurhólar 27, the proposal is for row houses and apartments occupying separate floors in buildings of two to three storeys. The project is expected to emphasise architectural quality, greenery and housing quality, and to work with the landscape and its form, according to Reykjavík City’s website.

At Hraunberg 1, plans call for two residential clusters: one with four to six apartments and another with 12 to 16. The latter would include service, retail or community space, as well as parking, on the ground floor.
