Frost on roads is making driving conditions hazardous in parts of Finland on Wednesday morning, Yle reports, while warmer weather is expected in the south on Thursday.

Drivers are warned to take care in eastern Finland and the regions of Uusimaa, Päijät-Häme and Central Finland. Wednesday afternoon will be sunny in many areas, but cloudier in western Finland and Lapland. Temperatures will remain below 10 degrees across the country except in the far south.

An approaching low-pressure system will strengthen winds in northern Lapland and over sea areas. By evening, skies are expected to clear across most of the country, and temperatures will fall below 5 degrees in many places. Some areas may see temperatures drop below freezing.

Cloud cover will increase slightly on Thursday, though sunshine is expected to break through in the east. Temperatures are forecast to rise by a couple of degrees across most of the country, with the south possibly nearing 15 degrees. Lapland could see drizzle or fog in places.
