Tórshavn’s 56-year-old gallery undergoes major renovation

Major renovation work is underway at Listaskálin, an art museum building in Tórshavn, KVF reports. Workers have poured a new floor and installed new windows.

Much of the original museum building, which opened in 1970, will be preserved, said Solveig Hanusardóttir Olsen, director of the National Gallery.

The work is part of a wider renovation and extension of the museum, with a total cost of just over 71 million kroner. The project is expected to be completed in spring 2028.
