Four Faroese men were arrested and charged on Monday with illegally possessing and sharing private images, KVF reported. A fifth man was arrested and charged in Denmark. The men are aged between 28 and 48.

Police searched the homes of the accused and seized computers, hard drives and phones, which are now being examined.

The investigation, named Olympus, will establish the scale of the cases and whether more people will be charged with illegally possessing or sharing private images.

Police said sharing images of another person without their consent is illegal and urged people never to forward such images. People who possess or share illegal image material may be punished.
