Three cars get stuck on a muddy track

Three cars became stuck in muddy conditions on a track near Skarðsmýrarfjall on Hellisheiði on Saturday evening, mbl.is reported.

Rescue teams in South Iceland were called shortly after 11 p.m. Several rescue vehicles went to help free the cars.

Landsbjörg, Iceland’s search and rescue association, said the cars were freed without difficulty and little effort was needed.

Rescue teams had a quiet night otherwise, with no callouts for wind damage or other weather-related damage.
