The Icelandic Confederation of Labour (ASÍ) has completed its leadership team, with Guðbjörg Kristmundsdóttir elected second vice-president and Berglind Kristófersdóttir third, mbl.is reported.

Guðbjörg, chair of the Keflavík and Neighbourhoods Workers’ and Seamen’s Association, and Berglind, chair of the Icelandic Cabin Crew Association, were elected at ASÍ’s 47th congress at the Hilton Reykjavík hotel.

Earlier, Georg Páll Skúlason, chair of Grafía, was elected president, while Halla Gunnarsdóttir, chair of VR, became first vice-president.

The president represents ASÍ on major issues inside and outside the labour movement, chairs the confederation’s central board and oversees its daily operations with the executive director. The vice-presidents form a presidential team that meets regularly, according to ASÍ’s website.
