ASÍ concludes presidential vote as counting begins
Voting for president of the Icelandic Confederation of Labour (ASÍ) has ended, and ballots are being counted on the final day of the organisation’s 47th congress at the Hilton Reykjavík Nordica hotel, mbl.is reports.
Two candidates are running: Georg Páll Skúlason, chairman of Grafía, and anthropologist Arnaldur Grétarsson, a former ASÍ employee. The counting is not expected to take very long, although the exact duration is unclear.
Finnbjörn A. Hermannsson, who has served as ASÍ president since 2023, is not seeking re-election.
