Justice Minister and Viðreisn MP Þorbjörg Sigríður Gunnlaugsdóttir said she would miss Jón Gnarr after he left the party’s parliamentary group earlier today, mbl.is reports. She said she hoped he would return.

“This is his decision, one that we respect and which I believe was not easy to make. But it was made amicably,” Þorbjörg said. Several other Viðreisn MPs have also said they want Gnarr to return.

Asked whether his departure reflected a falling-out with the group, Þorbjörg said the way both sides had spoken about the matter, as well as their cooperation agreement, spoke for itself.

“He supports the government and its policy, and supports it in votes. That says quite a lot,” she said. Þorbjörg described Gnarr as an excellent and enjoyable colleague and said she would miss him.
