Bakkafrost, court, transport regulations

A court will consider next week whether the charges against Bakkafrost are time-barred, KVF reports. The company’s lawyer argues that they are.

The chief of police has charged Bakkafrost with six breaches of the transport regulations between 18 March and 21 July 2020. Prosecutors say the company moved goods without permission from the Food and Veterinary Authority. All the transports took place on Suðuroy.

The charge sheet also says a transport from Froðba to Porkeri, for which permission had been granted, was not entered in the transport logbook.
