Craftsmen’s unions reject mediation proposal in KAF talks

No agreement emerged from mediation between the Municipal Employers’ Association (KAF) and craftsmen’s unions, KVF reported. KAF accepted the mediators’ proposal, but the unions rejected it, according to KAF.

KAF, the Faroese Craftsmen’s Association and the National Association of Craftsmen had been negotiating a new collective agreement to replace one that expired on 1 January. After negotiations failed, the parties called in the mediation service.

Mediators presented a proposal on Tuesday evening and gave the parties until noon on Wednesday to respond.
