EU grants 30 million euros for Pori TNT factory

The EU has awarded a 30 million euro grant to a TNT factory project in Noormarkku, Pori, Yle reports.

Finland’s Defence Ministry said the funding supports efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of the country’s defence industry and improve Europe’s capacity to produce raw materials critical to defence.

Defence Minister Antti Häkkänen said Finland had now secured nearly 50 million euros in international funding for the factory. The United States had previously joined the project, and EU funding has now been confirmed, he said.

Construction work has already begun at the factory site.
