Fewer Swedes are now greatly worried about crime in society, according to a national survey by the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention, SVT reports.
Over the past decade, the share who say they are greatly worried rose from 28% to 54%. It has now fallen to 45%.
“It is unusual to see such large changes from one year to the next. These phenomena are normally quite slow to change,” investigator Maria Molin said in a press release.
The National Survey on Safety has been conducted annually since 2006.
