Drone reveals two previously unknown sheep pens

A photographer using a drone to document a sheep pen in Landeyjar discovered three pens on the same hill, although the local farmer knew of only one, mbl.is reported.

Anna Fjóla Gísladóttir was photographing Austur-Landeyjarétt, an old sheep pen in Landeyjar built from turf. After hearing that another pen stood across the highway, she went to look for it and used her drone to survey the hill.

Gísladóttir discussed the discovery with Óskar Bergsson on Dagmál while talking about her book, Réttir á Íslandi. It contains photographs of around 700 sheep pens across Iceland.
