Sweden’s parliament will vote on Magdalena Andersson’s bid to become prime minister of a Social Democratic one-party government on Thursday, Speaker Andreas Norlén said at a press conference, SVT reported.

The Left Party and the Green Party have said they will vote against the proposal. Andersson has also said she expects to lose the vote.

Norlén did not say who would receive the next mandate to explore forming a government. He said he would discuss the way forward with the other party leaders after Thursday’s vote. Rather than invite them to a meeting at his office, he plans to call them to signal that the process should move quickly.
