Yle is looking for people who find remote work difficult or would rather work in person, and is inviting them to share their experiences.
Many employers are asking staff to come to the office more often. Last week, Yle reported on a programmer who resigned after their employer increased in-person work. The trade union Pro says several employees are considering quitting because they are now required to be in the office more often than before.
While public discussion has focused on how working in person can make life more difficult, not everyone opposes it. Tuomas Aarto, chief executive of the Service Sector Employers association Palta, has said that working together in person can strengthen a sense of community and help new employees settle into a workplace. He has also recommended regular in-person work alongside remote work to support the transfer of informal knowledge and technological development.
Yle is seeking an interviewee who is affected by remote work or wants to work in person.
