Police hold suspect over serious offence targeting Söderhamn school

A person has been detained on suspicion of a serious offence targeting an upper-secondary school in Söderhamn, Swedish broadcaster SVT reported, citing police.

Police said they identified the suspect and brought them in for questioning before detaining them on Monday. The investigation is at an early and sensitive stage, and police said they would not comment further.

Police assess that there is no continuing threat to the school following the suspect’s identification and detention. They will take measures to strengthen security at the school on Tuesday.
