Denmark’s armed forces have released video for the first time of a disputed incident at Borris firing range in September last year, DR reports. Soldiers fired shots “at one or more flying objects, which were probably drones”. The video was released after DR sought access to the recording.
The footage was filmed by an employee at the range. According to the armed forces’ account, the employee assessed the object in the sky as a propeller plane, not a drone, and said the shots were fired only after the recording was made. The employee later saw another object flying low and assessed it as “a drone with four rotors”.
The armed forces acknowledged last week that it had given incorrect information about the incident. The shots were fired between 8.06pm and 8.08pm, not at about 8.20pm as initially stated.
It also emerged that a Norwegian passenger plane passed through the area while shots were being fired. The army chief said the shots were not directed at the plane.
