A man shot by police outside Stockholm’s Royal Palace last week has been remanded in custody, SVT reports, citing the newspaper Mitt i.

The man, who is in his 30s, is suspected on probable cause of an aggravated violation of the Knife Act and an aggravated threat against a public servant. He denies the charges.

His injuries are serious but not life-threatening. Prosecutor Svante Alm told Mitt i that he believed the man was shot in the leg, but did not know how many times. There are also reports that a Taser was used, though Alm said he could not confirm whether the man was hit by it.

The police action is being investigated by the Special Prosecutor’s Office.
