The Rovaniemi-based Mestis ice hockey club RoKi has avoided bankruptcy after paying all its tax debts, Yle reported Monday.

The Lapland District Court confirmed that the Finnish Tax Administration withdrew its bankruptcy petition against the club on Monday. RoKi said it had paid the debts.

The club raised money towards the tax bill in part by selling hockey pucks for 100 euros each.
