The 2026 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences is due to be announced at 11:45 on Monday, with SVT’s live coverage starting at 11:40, the broadcaster reports.

Last year’s prize went to Joel Mokyr, Philippe Aghion and Peter Howitt. Half was awarded to Mokyr for identifying the conditions for sustained growth through technological progress. The other half went to Aghion and Howitt for their theory of sustained growth through creative destruction.

The prize’s full name is the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel. It was established in 1968. SVT said the article would be updated.
