The Faroe Islands Cancer Society has bought a house to accommodate its expanding operations, KVF reports. The society says its activities no longer fit in its rented premises.

The house is on Støðlagøta in Argir and could be ready for use in a year, if the society secures the necessary funding. The purchase and project will cost 13.5 million kroner, of which 8.7 million is for renovations.

The society has paid one million kroner from its own funds. Its 2027 national fundraising campaign is expected to raise three million kroner. Betri, a main supporter of the project, contributed 2.5 million kroner in 2026.

The society has requested funding for 2027 from Betri and plans to apply to the A.P. Møller Foundation, Realdania and others. It has also asked the Finance Committee and the Ministry of Health and Energy for support.
