Police ticket more than 100 drivers at agricultural show

More than 100 drivers were fined for illegal parking near Laugardalshöll on Saturday, as crowds attended the Icelandic Agriculture 2026 exhibition, mbl.is reported.

Parking spaces at the hall were scarce. Árni Friðleifsson, an assistant chief superintendent with the Capital Region Police, told mbl.is that well over 100 cars had received parking fines after police were alerted to poor conditions in the area.

“Traffic laws apply on Saturdays just as they do on other days,” Árni said. Asked whether the drivers were exhibition visitors, he added: “I hope they are not farmers parking illegally.”
