A fire at Årup Station will disrupt train services between Odense and Fredericia throughout the weekend, DR reports. DSB says regional trains will be replaced by buses, while other services will run with delays.

Intercity, express and international trains are expected to operate as usual, but will travel more slowly near Årup. Banedanmark says trains must pass through the station at 40 kilometres per hour.

The fire broke out yesterday morning in a technical hut, which was completely destroyed and has caused signalling problems. The blaze disrupted rail traffic for the whole day yesterday.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but Banedanmark says there is no indication it was deliberate. The agency has not given a timeframe for restoring normal service, saying the disruption will be prolonged.
