Sýn and Sagafilm have signed an agreement to launch a streaming service featuring only Icelandic content, mbl.is reported. The service, called Heima, is expected to go live in the coming weeks and will be available through Sýn’s television service.
Heima will bring together content from both companies’ archives, including scripted series such as Pressa, Næturvaktin, Fóstbræður, Ástríður and Stelpurnar. Its entertainment offerings will include Tekinn, Heimsókn, Hæðin and Ísskápastríð.
The catalogue will cover four decades of Icelandic television production. Most of the content first premiered on Stöð 2 and Sýn, alongside a selection of productions made over the years by Sagafilm, which the companies describe as one of the country’s oldest and largest production companies.
