Salmonella has been detected in Finnish eggs, and consumers are being advised to discard affected packs, Yle reports.
Munax Oy said an official sample taken at one of its contract producers’ farms found salmonella. The advice applies to all eggs from that farm packed for consumers.
The affected free-range eggs may be sold under the Laitilan Kanatarha, Pirkka and Kotimaista brands. They can be identified by the stamp 1FI15493 on the shell.
Salmonella is destroyed at temperatures above 70 degrees Celsius, and the eggs are safe to eat when cooked.
