A fire near Aarup on western Funen is disrupting trains across Denmark, and services are expected to remain affected for many hours, DR reported. The disruption will also affect people travelling by train for the autumn holiday this afternoon.

Banedanmark has withdrawn its earlier forecast that services would return to normal around noon. Firefighters must finish their work at the scene before Banedanmark can assess the damage. The agency expects to get an overview between 9 and 9.30am.

All trains between Fredericia and Copenhagen are taking longer than usual. Regional trains between Odense and Fredericia are not running.

DSB is trying to arrange replacement buses, but so far has secured only one. Staff are available at stations in Odense and Fredericia to answer questions and help passengers.

Passengers with tickets for cancelled InterCity trains can use trains that are running, including those travelling on Orange tickets.
