A district court in southwest Finland is due to rule in a case involving the bodies of an elderly couple found in freezers in Turku, Yle reports.

The couple’s 81-year-old son is accused of disturbing the peace of the dead. He has admitted placing his parents’ bodies in the freezers but denies committing a crime.

One parent died in 1994 and the other in 1995. Police found their bodies in two separate freezers in 2024, where they had been kept for about 30 years.
