Finavia adds 31 winter routes, mostly in Lapland

Finavia says 31 new scheduled flight connections will operate to Finland this winter, with most of the additions serving Lapland, Yle reports. The new services will bring the number of international scheduled routes at Finnish airports to 163.

Rovaniemi Airport will have flights to 37 destinations next winter, while Kittilä Airport will serve 15, Kuusamo Airport nine, Ivalo Airport eight and Kemi Airport two.

During the busiest winter weeks, Rovaniemi will receive scheduled flights from 36 international airports. New direct routes include Newcastle, Munich and Prague.

Kittilä will gain connections to Amsterdam, Brussels and Liverpool, while Ivalo will have a new connection to Munich. Kemi-Tornio Airport will also get a direct scheduled route to Brussels for the winter season.

Kuusamo will add routes from Berlin, London and Riga. A small number of flights will also operate from Hamburg and Manchester.
