Ölverk’s beer festival drew a lively crowd to Hveragerði last weekend, despite heavy rain, mbl.is reported. The event was held for the seventh time.

About 300 people attend the festival each year, said Laufey Sif Lárusdóttir, one of the owners of Ölverk. This year, 32 producers showcased their products, including beer, kombucha, wine, soft drinks, spirits, ice cream and cheese. They came from across Iceland, as well as from Norway, Germany and Sardinia.

Ölverk also ran a pop-up food service at the event. Performers included Páll Óskar and Mugison, along with DJs from FM Belfast.

The festival took place in a greenhouse normally used for extensive plant cultivation. Lárusdóttir said guests danced late into the evening in the hot greenhouse. Some attendees dressed up, and visitors also competed to hold large beer mugs aloft.
