Marius Borg Høiby charged with assault and vandalism in Frogner, Oslo

Update on the case.

On Sunday, August 4, at 12:30 PM, police received reports of a violent incident that occurred during the night in Frogner, Oslo. Based on information from the victim and investigations at the scene, Marius Borg Høiby has been charged.

The incident is reported to have taken place in an apartment at the victim’s registered address. According to sources, Høiby was present between 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM on Sunday. The police allege that Høiby physically assaulted the woman and caused damage to the apartment.

Høiby faces charges of:

– Assault, which generally involves physical violence against another person. Sentences for assault can range from 30 to 120 days in prison, with harsher penalties for aggravated cases.

– Vandalism, involving damage to someone else’s property. The penalty for intentional damage can include fines or up to one year in prison.

Within the apartment, police seized a knife, which sources indicate was not used against the victim but was embedded in the wall, causing damage. The victim reportedly suffered physical abuse, and other items were also destroyed.

The police previously stated a relationship exists between Høiby and the victim. They responded to the call shortly before 1:00 PM and conducted a brief interview with the woman, securing evidence from the scene. She received medical attention but was not hospitalized.

Høiby was arrested outside Skaugum near Jansløkka school around 4:10 PM, having agreed to meet with police. A patrol unit took him to detention.

It is emphasized that Høiby is only charged, and the investigation is ongoing.
